The landscape of employee benefits has evolved dramatically. In the late 1990s, when I began my career as an advisor, employers offered robust benefits with minimal premiums. Today, the average annual employee premium has skyrocketed to nearly $10,000, a stark indication of the pressing need for informed decision-making in this area.

Premium growth has outpaced inflation and wage increases, changing the dynamics between employer and employee.

Unfortunately, during that time, we’ve seen massive increases in obesity, diabetes, and nearly all general health trends in America.

Yet, employers, in most cases, are still being offered similar options with little customization, innovation or strategic vision.

I help employers design benefits strategies that actually work — not just look good on paper. After years in the trenches with CEOs, CFOs, HR leaders, and business owners, we know that we must achieve transparency, accountability, and financial control.

The Advisor’s Edge blends insider strategies with leadership lessons you can use right now — and delivers it in a quick, human read you’ll actually look forward to.

To achieve the best outcomes within our health plans, we also have to help people attain the best outcomes in their own lives - physically, mentally, and emotionally. I’ve learned that great leadership starts with leading yourself.

For better or worse, the two are intricately connected.

For that reason, we have unified those topics under this publication.
